Note: Until around the 1930s, West Jefferson in Trenton was called Washington Avenue and had a different address numbering system. I have listed some of those old Washington Avenue numbers at the end of this list. (Also during the early 20th century, Riverside Drive was called Front Street, and West Road was known as Pine as late as 1940.) The section of West Jefferson that runs through Wyandotte is called Biddle, and is listed separately on its own page.

The Trenton Times for June 25, 1948, printed an article titled "McLouth Holds Acreage Option" which said: "War Assets Administrator Jess Larson yesterday morning approved sale of the electric alloy steel ingot plant at East Chicago, Ill., to McLouth Steel Corp., Detroit. Plans of the company are to move the plant to a site which McLouth now holds under option in north Trenton. McLouth, one of three bidders, was awarded the contract at a bid of $1,207,327.40. .... Held under option by McLouth is 201 1/2 acres of land in the north Trenton area running from Sibley Road south along the river. Options on the land purchase were obtained from the Highland Oil Co. and the Walter Haass estate. Officials of McLouth would not release information concerning construction at the site nor information regarding the land purchase. It is understood, however, they contemplate building an 80x800 feet addition to the plant which would be moved here from the East Chicago steel district. McLouth's present Detroit holding are on Livernois ave. Don B. McLouth, head of the company, is chairman of the Michigan Conservation Commission. .... First intimation that the steel plant might come to Trenton occurred two weeks ago when representatives of McLouth Steel met with the Zoning Board of Appeals and Adjustments to discuss zoning restrictions and other matters pertaining to the tract. Then, however, the representative would not divulge his clients. The site held under option by McLouth was also held under option by Armco (American Rolling Mills Co.) for a number of years. It allowed the options to lapse prior to the war."

An article in the 1/29/1975 News-Herald was about the renovations of the theatre and its change from being a movie house to a community players theater. The article said that the building was "built in the early 1930s." It also said: "Originally built as an automotive sales dealership and garage during the early 1930s. It appears as though it was, at one time Ballentine Dodge, Truby Ford and Howard Chevrolet. According to Robert Hamer, owner of the Hamer Texaco service station on W. Jefferson and West Road, the building became Trenton Theater in 1938. His brother was the first manager of the theater which was one of the Associated Theater chain, he said." This information conflicts with the mention of "the 40-year-old Trenton Theatre" in a 1959 article at the theater's entry on the Waterwinterwonderland site.
